§ 59615 Contempt For Disobeying Orders

Key Takeaways

  • •If you ignore an official order or subpoena from the director, you're in trouble.
  • •You can be punished for contempt, which means you broke the rules on purpose.
  • •The case will go to a higher court in your county to decide your punishment.

Example

You get a subpoena to show up in court for a case, but you skip it because you don’t feel like going.

Since you ignored the subpoena, the court can say you’re in contempt and punish you, like making you pay a fine or even go to jail.
