§ 5917 Committee Member Liability Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're on the committee, you won't get in trouble for the committee's mistakes.
  • •You're only responsible if you do something dishonest or illegal yourself.
  • •You're not responsible for what other committee members do wrong.

Example

A committee member makes a bad decision that costs the department money.

That member won't have to pay for the mistake unless they did something dishonest, like stealing. Other members won't be blamed for it either.
