§ 5821 Plant Pest Inspection Registry

Key Takeaways

  • •The state can check plants and where they grow to keep them healthy.
  • •They can look at records to see where plants come from and if they are good quality.
  • •If plants are free from bugs or diseases, they can be listed in a special registry.
  • •This helps protect farms and crops in the state.

Example

A farmer grows strawberries and wants to make sure they are free from bugs.

The state can come and check the strawberry plants and the farm. If the strawberries are healthy and not likely to get bugs, they can be added to a list of safe plants. This helps other farmers know which plants are safe to buy.
