§ 54435 Cooperative Bargaining Negotiation Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •People who buy or sell farm products don’t have to agree on a price or deal right away.
  • •They still must talk and try to make a deal if the law says they have to.
  • •They have to follow the rules for talking and making deals if those rules apply to them.

Example

A group of farmers wants to sell their strawberries to a big store.

The store doesn’t have to say yes to the farmers’ price right away, but they still have to sit down and talk about it if the law says so. They can’t just ignore the farmers.
