Key Takeaways

  • •The rules can say who can join the group and what they need to do to become a member or owner.
  • •The rules can explain how members can leave or sell their part of the group.
  • •The rules can say when and why someone stops being a member.
  • •If someone can't be a member anymore, their rights can be paused automatically.
  • •The rules can also explain how to kick someone out of the group.

Example

Imagine you join a club where everyone owns a part of a community garden.

The club's rules say you have to live in the neighborhood to be a member. If you move away, you can't be in the club anymore, and your rights to use the garden stop. The rules also say how you can sell your part of the garden to someone else who lives in the neighborhood.
