§ 54111 Association Bylaws Adoption

Key Takeaways

  • •Every group must create rules (called bylaws) within 30 days of starting.
  • •Most members must agree to make or change these rules.
  • •The group can let the leaders (board of directors) change the rules later if most members agree.
  • •Members can take back this power anytime if most agree.

Example

A neighborhood group starts to manage a community park.

Within 30 days, they must create rules (like how to use the park). Most members must agree on these rules. Later, they can let the group leaders change the rules, but only if most members say it's okay.
