§ 54002 Producer Association Definition

• •An 'association' is a special kind of company created under this law.
• •Even if the company was made under different rules before, it follows this law now if it’s doing what this law says.
• •This law treats these companies like they make or sell something, even if they don’t actually grow or build it themselves.

A group of farmers starts a company together to sell their crops under one brand.

Even if they first made the company using old rules, if they’re now selling crops the way this law describes, the company has to follow all the rules in this law.
