§ 53562 Nuisance Abatement Civil Actions

Key Takeaways

  • •If something is a big problem (like bad food or unsafe stuff), the local lawyer for the government can go to court to fix it.
  • •The court can decide to destroy the bad thing, fix it, or let it go but with rules to make sure it’s safe.
  • •This is about stopping things that could hurt people, not about punishing someone.

Example

A store is selling spoiled milk that could make people sick.

The government lawyer can ask a court to make the store throw away the bad milk or fix the problem so no one gets hurt.
