§ 5303 Interstate Quarantine Regulations

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of health rules (the director) makes the rules for quarantine when it involves other states or countries.
  • •The Governor (or the director if the Governor says so) must say 'yes' to these rules before they start.
  • •These rules are for when sickness might spread from outside the state.

Example

A bad flu is spreading from another country, and people traveling might bring it here.

The health director makes rules like 'people coming from that country must stay home for 2 weeks.' The Governor (or the director) must agree and announce these rules before they happen.
