§ 52853 Cotton Variety Development Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •The law wants farmers to grow really good cotton, like Acala or Pima.
  • •Farmers must follow rules to keep the good cotton from mixing with bad cotton.
  • •The rules help make sure the good cotton stays really good.

Example

A farmer plants Acala cotton next to another type of cotton.

If the farmer doesn’t follow the rules, the good Acala cotton could mix with the other cotton and become less valuable. The law says the farmer must take steps to stop this from happening.
