§ 52355 Seed Labeling Assessment Collection

Key Takeaways

  • •If you sell seeds with someone else's name on the package, you must collect a fee from them when you sell the seeds.
  • •You have to pay that fee to the director (a government official).
  • •You can add a small extra fee for your trouble, but the director decides how much that can be.

Example

A seed company sells flower seeds to a local store, and the store's name is on the seed packets.

The seed company must collect a fee from the store based on the price of the seeds and then pay that fee to the director. The company can also add a small extra charge for handling this fee.
