§ 46013 Late Fee Penalty Rules

• •If you don't pay the fee on time, you'll get a 10% penalty on the total amount you owe.
• •You'll also have to pay extra money (interest) every month until you pay what you owe. The interest is 1.5% of the unpaid amount each month.
• •The penalty and interest start 10 days after the fee was due.

A farmer is supposed to pay a $1,000 fee by June 1st but forgets to pay it.

If the farmer doesn't pay by June 11th, they will owe a $100 penalty (10% of $1,000) plus $15 in interest for each month the fee is late (1.5% of $1,000).
