• •This means local officers can help make sure everyone is following the state's agriculture laws.
• •The agreement is optional and depends on whether the state and county agree to work together.

A farmer is using a pesticide that is not allowed in the state.

The state's agriculture director can ask the local county agriculture officer to help check farms and make sure they are using the right pesticides. If they find the farmer using the wrong one, they can work together to stop it and maybe fine the farmer.
