§ 34626 Milk Container Sterilization Requirements

• •All containers used for selling milk (except single-use ones) must be washed and sterilized.
• •This washing and sterilizing must happen in a special room made just for that.
• •The room must be on the same property where the milk is put into the containers.

A dairy farm fills milk jugs to sell in stores.

The farm must wash and sterilize the jugs in a special cleaning room at the farm before filling them with milk. They can't just rinse them anywhere.
