§ 33146 Milk Inspection Service Protests

• •Milk producers or inspection services can complain in writing if they don’t like a decision made about milk grades.
• •If more than half of the milk producers in a county don’t like their local milk inspection service, they can ask the state to take over instead.
• •Any complaint or request must explain why they are unhappy.

A group of dairy farmers in a county think their local milk inspectors are doing a bad job.

If more than half of the farmers sign a petition saying they want the state to handle inspections instead, the state director has to consider their request. They must explain why they don’t like the current inspectors.
