§ 31605 Vicious Dog Enclosure Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •A fence or structure must stop young kids from getting in and keep a mean dog from getting out.
  • •The fence must be strong enough so the dog can't escape.
  • •The dog must be kept in a way that follows other animal care laws.

Example

You have a big, aggressive dog in your backyard.

You need a tall, strong fence so kids can't climb in and the dog can't jump out or dig under it. If the dog gets out and hurts someone, you could be in trouble for not having the right fence.
