§ 27672 Failure To Appear

Key Takeaways

  • •If you promise to show up in court after getting arrested, you must go.
  • •It doesn’t matter if the charges against you change or go away—you still have to appear.
  • •Breaking this promise is against the law.

Example

You get pulled over for speeding, sign a paper saying you’ll go to court next month, but then skip it because you think the ticket was unfair.

Even if you think the ticket is wrong, you broke the law by not showing up when you promised.
