§ 27599 Egg Disposal Order Compliance

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't sell or throw away eggs that have a disposal order until an officer says it's okay in writing.
  • •You can unload and store the eggs, but you can't get rid of them yet.
  • •This rule is about making sure bad or unsafe eggs don't get sold or used.

Example

A farmer has a truckload of eggs that might be bad, and an officer puts a disposal order on them.

The farmer can unload the eggs into storage, but can't sell or throw them away until the officer gives written permission. If the farmer sells them anyway, they're breaking the law.

§ 27599 Egg Disposal Order Compliance

It is unlawful for any person to dispose of any eggs which are subject to a disposal order prior to the release in writing of the load or lot by the enforcing officer at the point of destination. This section does not, however, make it unlawful for any person to unload and store any eggs which are subject to a disposal order. (Added by Stats. 1990, Ch. 507, Sec. 11. Effective August 13, 1990.)
