§ 25559 Poultry Noncompliance Notice

• •If chicken or turkey meat is bad or doesn't meet rules, an officer can stop it from being sold.
• •The officer must tell the owner why the meat is being held and what's wrong with it.
• •The owner has a short time to fix the problem or the meat might be thrown away.
• •If the meat isn't fixed, it can be treated like trash and gotten rid of.

A grocery store gets a big shipment of chicken, but some of it smells bad and looks spoiled.

An officer can stop the store from selling the bad chicken. They'll tell the store what's wrong and give them a little time to fix it, like throwing away the spoiled parts. If the store doesn't fix it, the officer can make them throw all the bad chicken away.
