§ 24831 Poultry Plant Licensing Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't break any rules about selling or handling poultry (like chicken or turkey).
  • •You need a special license to run a place that processes poultry.
  • •You can't lie on the label about what kind of poultry meat it is.

Example

A store sells chicken but puts a 'turkey' label on it.

This is against the law because they are lying about what kind of meat it is.
