§ 243 Department Funds Remittance

Key Takeaways

  • •If the department charges money for something, that money goes to the state.
  • •The state uses that money to help pay for the department's work.
  • •The department can't keep the money for itself—it has to send it to the state.

Example

You pay a fee to get a copy of a birth certificate from a government office.

That fee doesn't stay with the office—it goes to the state, and the state uses it to help run that office.
