§ 24109 Animal Slaughter Inspection Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •Animals must be checked by an inspector before they can be sent to be slaughtered.
  • •The person sending the animal must show a proper bill of sale for each animal during the inspection.
  • •This rule applies to all animals, even if they have a brand or mark.

Example

A farmer wants to send his cows to a slaughterhouse.

Before the cows can be sent, an inspector must check them. The farmer must also show a bill of sale for each cow to prove he owns them. If he doesn’t do this, the cows can’t be sent for slaughter.
