§ 19038 Meat Inspection Misrepresentation Ban

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't lie about meat being checked by an inspector if it wasn't.
  • •You can't say meat is approved if it's not really approved.
  • •This rule is about being honest about meat inspections.

Example

A butcher shop puts a sticker on their meat that says 'Inspected and Approved' even though no inspector ever checked it.

This is breaking the law because they are lying about the meat being inspected when it wasn't.
