§ 19001 Food Processing Sanitation Inspections

Key Takeaways

  • •A food inspector must check the cleanliness of a food place before it opens and keep checking during the day.
  • •If the place is dirty or food is handled badly, the inspector can stop them from working until it’s fixed.
  • •The inspector puts a special mark on food that is safe and clean to eat.

Example

A butcher shop opens in the morning, and the inspector finds dirty cutting boards and old meat left out.

The inspector can tell the shop to close until they clean everything and throw away the bad meat. If the shop fixes everything, the inspector will mark the good meat as safe to sell.
