§ 12884 Toxic Pesticide Labeling Requirements

This law says that if a pesticide is very poisonous to people, its label must clearly show the name and amount of each main ingredient, plus the total amount of other ingredients.

Key Takeaways

  • •If a pesticide is super poisonous, the label must list all the main ingredients and how much of each is inside.
  • •The label must also show the total amount of other stuff in the pesticide.
  • •This helps people know what they're using and how careful they need to be.

Example

You buy a strong bug spray at the store.

The label must tell you exactly what chemicals are in it and how much of each there is, so you know how dangerous it is.
