§ 11704 Maintenance Gardener Pest Control

This law lets people who run a gardening business and also do pest control as a side job get a special pest control license, as long as pest control is just a small part of their gardening work.

Key Takeaways

  • •You must be primarily a gardener/maintenance worker.
  • •Pest control can only be done indoors, in parks, or around buildings as part of that work.
  • •You need to pass an exam and pay a fee to get the license.

Example

A landscaper who trims trees and mows lawns also offers pest control services to customers for a small extra fee.

Because pest control is only a small, occasional part of their gardening business, they can apply for a pest control license in the 'maintenance gardener' category by passing the required exam and paying the fee.
