§ 9094 Voter Guide Mailing Deadlines

Key Takeaways

  • •The state sends a voter guide to every registered voter before an election, but not if you registered less than 29 days before.
  • •The guide is mailed between 40 and 10 days before the election, depending on when you registered.
  • •If multiple voters live at the same address, the state may send just one guide for all of them.
  • •You can ask your local election office for a guide, and polling places will have extra copies for voters to read.

Example

You move to a new house and register to vote 30 days before an election.

The state will mail a voter guide to your new address, but it might arrive just 10 days before the election because you registered late. If your roommate is also registered at the same address, you might share one guide instead of getting separate copies.
