§ 8105 Candidate Filing Fees

Key Takeaways

  • •You must pay a fee when you pick up the forms to run for office.
  • •If you don’t pay the fee, they won’t accept your forms.
  • •The fee is not refundable, even if you change your mind.

Example

You want to run for mayor and go to the county office to get the forms.

You have to pay the fee right then. If you don’t pay, they won’t give you the forms to sign up. And if you pay but later decide not to run, you won’t get your money back.
