§ 7241 Committee Rules And Procedures

Key Takeaways

  • •The committee can make its own rules about firing leaders.
  • •The committee can decide how to call meetings, and these rules override other rules.
  • •The committee can choose if people can vote for others (proxies) and set the rules for it.
  • •Any rules the committee made before the law allowed it are now official if most members agreed.

Example

A group of neighbors has a committee to manage their shared park.

The committee can make rules like how to remove a leader who isn’t doing their job, how to call a meeting to discuss park issues, and whether someone can vote for their neighbor if they can’t attend. Even if they made some rules before the law said they could, those rules are now valid if most members agreed.
