§ 6860 Presidential Primary Notification

Key Takeaways

  • •If enough people sign a paper to put someone on the presidential primary ballot, the Secretary of State has to tell that person or their team.
  • •This rule is about making sure candidates know they have enough support to be on the ballot.
  • •It’s like getting a note from the teacher saying you made the team because enough kids voted for you.

Example

A group of people collects signatures to get their favorite candidate on the presidential primary ballot.

Once they have enough signatures, the Secretary of State must send a message to the candidate or their team to let them know they’re officially on the ballot.
