§ 6852 Presidential Primary Candidate List

Key Takeaways

  • •The Secretary of State must share a list of presidential primary candidates with the public and news at least 88 days before the election.
  • •After sharing the list, they can add more candidates but cannot remove any names already on it.
  • •The Secretary of State must also send this list (and any updates) to the Green Party Liaison.

Example

Imagine it's almost time for a big school election where kids vote for their class president. The teacher in charge must tell everyone who’s running at least 88 days before the vote.

The teacher can add more kids to the list later if they decide to run, but they can’t take away any names they already shared. They also have to send this list to the Green Club leader.
