§ 2112 Voter Citizenship Affidavit Evidence

Key Takeaways

  • •Signing a voting registration form means you say you're a U.S. citizen.
  • •This only counts for voting, not for other things like jobs or school.
  • •It’s not proof of citizenship for anything else.

Example

You sign a form to register to vote and check the box that says you're a U.S. citizen.

This means the government will let you vote because you said you're a citizen, but it doesn’t mean you can use this form to get a passport or prove citizenship for a job.
