§ 12316 Precinct Board Excusals

This rule lets the elections official skip or replace people they think shouldn't serve on a precinct board, and keep swapping them out until the final list is sent to the precinct inspector.

Key Takeaways

  • •The elections official can excuse anyone they think shouldn't serve.
  • •If someone is excused, disqualified, or not able to do the job, they can be replaced.
  • •Changes keep happening until the final list of officers is sent to the precinct inspector.

Example

A town names Jane to a precinct board, but later discovers she moved out of the area and can't do the job.

The elections official can excuse Jane and pick someone else to take her place, and they keep doing that until the official list is sent to the precinct inspector.
