§ 10508 District Director Election Methods

• •The main rule decides if elections are by divisions or by the whole district.
• •A governing body can require district‑wide elections.
• •If district‑wide elections are required, they must follow Section 10650.

A county water district wants to choose its board members. It can either let each town (division) vote for its own director or have all voters in the whole county vote for every director.

The district follows the main rule to pick one method, but if the governing body wants, it can require that all directors be elected by the entire district instead of by each town.
