§ 87893 Full-Time Faculty Funding Oversight

Key Takeaways

  • •The state gives money to community colleges to hire full-time teachers, and the colleges must use this money only for that purpose.
  • •Colleges have to show proof they spent the money correctly, like how many full-time teachers they hired.
  • •If a college misuses the money, they can get in trouble, and the state will help them fix the problem.
  • •The state will tell everyone if a college breaks these rules, and the college will get a warning.

Example

A community college gets $1,000,000 to hire full-time teachers but uses $200,000 of it to buy new computers instead.

The college broke the rules because the money was only for hiring teachers. The state will find out, make them fix it, and warn them in a public meeting.
