§ 87771 Employee Leave Compensation Adjustment

• •If the employee gave a bond (like a promise to pay), the money from that bond gets split between them and the school based on how much time they actually worked.

A teacher agrees to work for 10 months but leaves after 7 months.

The teacher got paid for the full 10 months but only worked 7. They have to pay back 30% of the money because they didn't work 3 out of the 10 months. If they gave a bond, 70% of that bond money goes to them, and 30% goes to the school.
