§ 8664 Summer Math Science Program

Key Takeaways

  • •The University of California runs a special summer school for math and science.
  • •Kids who want to go must apply and pay a $40 fee (the fee can go up a little each year).
  • •If a kid can't afford the fee, they can ask to skip it, and the school will decide.
  • •The school can also ask for donations to help pay for the summer program.

Example

A 10th grader wants to join the summer math program but their family can't pay the $40 fee.

The student can ask the University of California to waive the fee. The school will check if they really can't pay and then say yes or no.
