§ 84917 Adult Education Funding Report

Key Takeaways

  • •The chancellor and the Superintendent must send a report every year by February 1 about how adult education money is used and how well it's working.
  • •The report must include things like what each group is teaching, how they're spending the money, and if they're doing a good job helping adults learn.
  • •They can make groups share extra information if needed to write this report.
  • •Other groups, like the Employment Development Department, must help make sure everything matches up with other job and education programs.

Example

Imagine your local school gets money to teach adults English and job skills. The school has to tell the state how they spent the money, what classes they offered, and if the adults actually learned something useful.

The state wants to make sure the money is being used well, so they ask for a report every year. If the school doesn’t share the right info, they might not get more money next year.
