§ 84757 Noncredit Adult Education Funding

Key Takeaways

  • •The state will pay for certain classes that don't give college credit, like parenting, English for non-native speakers, and job training.
  • •Classes must be on the approved list to get money from the state.
  • •If a class isn't on the list and doesn't give credit, the state won't pay for it.

Example

A community college offers a free cooking class for adults.

If the cooking class is part of 'home economics' (like learning to cook healthy meals), the state will pay for it. But if it's just a fun cooking class not on the list, the state won't pay.
