§ 84044 Community College Funding Reports

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of California Community Colleges must send a report every year by December 31.
  • •The report talks about how money was spent on helping students with basic skills, giving out money to students who need it, helping colleges with tech stuff, and giving advice to colleges.
  • •The report must show if the money helped more students get money for school and if more students signed up for classes.
  • •The report goes to the people who handle money for the state and the people who make the laws.

Example

Imagine your school gets extra money to help students who are struggling with reading and math. The school uses this money to hire more teachers and buy new books.

The boss of the community colleges has to write a report every year explaining how this money was spent and if it helped the students get better at reading and math. This report is sent to the state so they know if the money was used well.
