§ 69785 Veteran Student Support Services

Key Takeaways

  • •Colleges in California must have special offices to help students who are in the military, veterans, or their family members.
  • •These offices help with money for school, signing up for classes, health help, and finding a job after school.
  • •The offices also help figure out if students can get money from the government to pay for school.
  • •Family members of military or veterans can get help too, if they are under 28 and live with them.

Example

A veteran wants to go to college but doesn't know how to pay for it or what classes to take.

The college must have a special office to help this veteran. They will help the veteran get money for school, pick the right classes, and even find a job after finishing school.
