§ 67351 Bond Issuance Procedures

Key Takeaways

  • •This law allows the state to borrow money by selling bonds (like IOUs) to pay for big projects.
  • •The rules for how these bonds work are taken from another law called the State General Obligation Bond Law.
  • •The state must follow those rules to sell, pay back, and manage the bonds.

Example

The state wants to build new schools but doesn’t have enough money right now.

The state can sell bonds to get the money now and pay it back later, just like taking out a loan. The rules for how this works are borrowed from another law.
