§ 66802 Interstate Community College Agreements

Key Takeaways

  • •California community colleges can join agreements with other states to let students attend schools across state lines.
  • •Each college must vote and decide if they want to join the agreement.
  • •Colleges can set their own rules for how they participate, as long as they follow the agreement.

Example

A student from Oregon wants to go to a community college in California.

If the California college joined the agreement, the Oregon student might be able to attend and pay less tuition. But if the college didn’t join or set limits, the student might not get the deal.
