§ 60611 Test Preparation Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools can't have programs just to teach kids how to pass state tests.
  • •Teachers can still show kids what the test questions look like or how to use the computer for the test.
  • •The rule is about not making test prep the only focus of learning.

Example

A school holds a class every day where students only practice old test questions to get better scores.

This class is not allowed because it’s only for test prep. But if a teacher shows a few test questions to help kids understand the format, that’s okay.
