§ 56330 Special Education Assessment Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools must follow special rules when looking at test scores to see if a kid needs extra help in school.
  • •These rules are from a big book of federal rules (like a school rulebook but for the whole country).
  • •The goal is to make sure kids who need extra help (like special classes or tools) get it fairly.
  • •This is for kids who might have trouble learning, talking, moving, or other things that make school harder.

Example

A 7-year-old kid is having a really hard time reading, even though they try super hard.

The school will look at the kid's test scores and other info using special rules to decide if they need extra help, like a reading tutor or special classes. They can't just guess—they have to follow the rules to be fair.
