§ 54683 Dream Resource Center Grants

Key Takeaways

  • •The money from this grant can only be used for two things: creating a new Dream Resource Center or adding more money to an existing one.
  • •A Dream Resource Center helps students with specific resources (listed in another law).
  • •Schools can run the center by themselves or team up with groups like colleges or community organizations.
  • •The grant money must be extra help—it can’t replace money the school is already using for the center.

Example

A high school wants to open a new Dream Resource Center to help students with college applications and financial aid.

The school can use the grant money to set up the center. They can also partner with a local college to help run it, but they can’t use the grant money to pay for things they’re already paying for with other money.
