§ 51452 Pupil Curriculum Mastery Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •The state decides how students can show they understand what they learn in school.
  • •Students can take tests to prove they know the material, and these tests can be made by the state or other groups.
  • •The state also sets the rules for what scores or levels mean a student has mastered the subject.

Example

A student takes a math test to show they understand fractions.

The state decides if the test is fair and what score the student needs to pass. If the student gets that score, they have shown they mastered fractions.
