§ 45353 Teacher Assistant Classification

• •Teacher assistants are not considered teachers under the law.
• •They don’t get the same rights or rules as teachers.

A teacher assistant helps in a classroom but isn’t allowed to lead the class alone.

Even if they do a lot of teaching work, the law says they’re not officially teachers, so they can’t do things only teachers are allowed to do.
