§ 45261 Classified Service Personnel Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •This law sets rules for how school staff (like janitors, bus drivers, or office workers) get hired, fired, promoted, or take time off.
  • •It covers things like job applications, tests, pay, and even why someone might not get the job.
  • •If the school has a union, some rules can be changed based on what the school and the union agree on.

Example

A school wants to hire a new janitor.

The school must follow rules like posting the job, giving a test, and picking the best person. If the janitors have a union, the school might have to follow extra rules the union agreed on, like higher pay.
