§ 41330 School District Funding Certification

Key Takeaways

  • •Every year, the Superintendent of Public Instruction must figure out how much money each school district will get.
  • •They do this by looking at how much money each school got the year before.
  • •They also check how much money county schools need for special classes and services.
  • •This money plan must be sent to the Controller by July 20th each year.

Example

Imagine your school got $100,000 last year for books and teachers. This year, the Superintendent will use that number to decide how much money your school gets this year.

The Superintendent looks at last year's money to plan this year's money for schools. They make sure every school gets what they need and send the plan by July 20th.
